Mauritania has a number of sites in the country where the plant and animal biological diversity is conserved in situ. This page gives information on and links to those sites. However in situ conservation is not limited to the national parks and reserves. Efforts are also made outside the strict boundaries of the parks, e.g.the GREZOH programme (see below).

Group of researchers from the University of Naoukchott that researches the humid zones in Mauritania.
GREZOH's activity report is available on this site (HTML and PDF version of the activity report). This report refers to research activities that seek to diminish the direct and indirect impact of human activities on Mauritania's biological diversity.
