Contributions to the Convention by Burkina Faso

The Government of Burkina Faso has officially signed the Convention on the 12th of June1992. The Convention has been ratified on the 2nd of September 1993.

Before and after ratification the following official documents related to the Convention have been produced by Burkina Faso:

• Country study on Biological Diversity (in French and in English )
  This document is related to the articles 6 and 8 of the Convention.
• The National Strategy and Action Plan of Burkina Faso  for the conservation of national biological diversity (in French ). This document is a follow up to the Country study prepared  in 1998. The strategy elaborates practical and operational goals and objectives in order to link up with international conservation efforts.

• First national Report

• Second national Report ou DOC

The Taxonomical lists contain an overview of species found in Burkina Faso.

The Research page will try to give an overview of the research on the biological diversity that is done in Burkina Faso by national and international researchers
